For Councils
WHO DOES WHAT TO SUPPORT THRIVING AND CLIMATE RESILIENT COMMUNITIES?
Everyone has a role in building climate resilience, but understanding who is responsible helps avoid poor decision-making and ensures responses are effective and well-coordinated.
The diagram illustrates how, at a whole-of-society level, everyone contributes to creating and maintaining thriving, resilient communities.
WHAT CLIMATE ACTION IS COUNCIL RESPONSBILE FOR?
Tasmanian councils play a crucial role in climate responses. By clearly understanding their responsibilities, councils can develop effective and efficient actions, avoid duplication with other stakeholders, and provide coordinated, collaborative responses across councils and the region.
The diagram illustrates what councils are responsible for, what they can influence, and where their key concerns lie.
